Because of this, we have chosen children's literacy and education as our philanthropy. Nine women created the Theta Chapter of Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc. Because of them and their hard work and determination, we are proud to finally be a part of such an extraordinary organization that promotes sisterhood, honesty, respect, loyalty, and friendship. The nine founding mothers of Theta Chapter have created a bond of true sisterhood. In such a short period of time, each and every one of us has taken advantage of the opportunity to get to know the other inside and out. We know of every triumph and defeat, of every happy and sad moment.
In the summer of 2002, those nine South Asian women came together in hopes of bringing Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc. to the University of Oklahoma. On September 14, 2002 these hopes became a reality. Although the process was challenging and even frustrating at times, it gives us great pleasure to finally say that we are a part of this great sisterhood. The relationships we have formed and will continue to form hold a special place in our hearts. We have been warmly welcomed to the Delta Phi Omega family and to the Greek community at OU. We thank you all for your support, and we promise to uphold the five pillars set by our national founders.
We the sisters of Delta Phi Omega have begun a conquest, which will hold its legacy throughout the future at the University of Oklahoma. We dreamt of creating a South Asian Sorority, we saw our way to obtain it, and we conquered all obstacles in our path.
